MagiCards

When I used to teach a lot I got very annoyed with having to duplicate all those boards for each lesson. Inspired by the french "coded cards" I developped the program MagiPDF that allowed me to produce my own coded cards. The general idea is to generate stickers for a set of hands, one for each card. The resulting coded cards are my MagiCards.

This PDF-File - 35k showing the hands for my course on counting (in german) gives an idea of those MagiCards. On each page there are 7 x 3 stickers that have to be placed onto the corresponding cards. The structure of the 3 pages is as follows:

Page 1 Page 2   Page 3
Anfang Pik Spade 8 Anfang Coeur   Heart 8 Anfang Karo Diamd. 8   Anfang Treff Club 8
Spade A Spade 7 Heart A   Heart 7 Diamd. A Diamd. 7   Club A Club 7
Spade K Spade 6 Heart K   Heart 6 Diamd. K Diamd. 6   Club K Club 6
Spade Q Spade 5 Heart Q   Heart 5 Diamd. Q Diamd. 5   Club Q Club 5
Spade J Spade 4 Heart J   Heart 4 Diamd. J Diamd. 4   Club J Club 4
Spade 10 Spade 3 Heart 10   Heart 3 Diamd. 10 Diamd. 3   Club 10 Club 3
Spade 9 Spade 2 Heart 9   Heart 2 Diamd. 9 Diamd. 2   Club 9 Club 2

The Files are optimized for my printer (Apple LaserWriter Select 360) and two sticker sizes (both for printing on A4 pages): 70mm x 42,3mm and 65mm x 38mm that are easily available - at least in Germany.

If you have access to a cutting device you can also print the file on whole A4 pages and cut them afterwards. It is a good idea, however, to mark the back side of the card fields to avoid mixing them up.

By the way, I do not sell MagiPDF. If you would like to use it for non-commercial purposes however, don't hesitate to write.

Of course if you have questions, comments, or suggestions on MagiCards please mail me.
